Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1993)
Director: Jeff Burr
Starring: Andrew Robinson, Ami Dolenz, Soleil Moon Frye
Synopsis:
A bunch of teenagers dabble with the occult and unwittingly resurrect Pumpkinhead to start a new cycle of revenge killings.
Impressions:
Well, what would you expect from a sequel to a rather substandard horror flick? If you answered, "not much", then you won't be disappointed. If you were hoping for an improvement over the original, well, that was silly of you. To be fair, though, this wasn't that much of a step down. It's not all that good, but it's tolerable enough. The special effects are worse than the previous entry but they get the job done. You may be interested to know that Andrew Robinson (Kirsty's dad from Hellraiser) is Sheriff Braddock and Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster!) is one of the delinquents. The cinematography is pretty wonky with lots of quick cuts and awkward angles. You can watch it if you like, but it's rather unremarkable, so you won't miss anything by skipping it.
