Leprechaun 3 (1995)
Director: Brian Trenchard-Smith
Starring: Warwick Davis, John Gatins, Lee Armstrong
Synopsis:
The Leprechaun is on the loose in Las Vegas, where his gold coins grant wishes with dangerous consequences.
Impressions:
I can without reservation say that this is an improvement on the previous film. There's a lot more fun to be had and the characters are generally better. Interestingly, I didn't like John Gatins much at the beginning and Lee Armstrong seemed promising, but the two switch places by the end of the film. I was a little bothered at first that the rules keep changing with each movie, but I suppose I'm silly to expect a deep and consistent lore for the Leprechaun series. There are more laughs to be had here and some great little moments like a little bit of bonding between the Leprechaun and an Elvis impersonator. It's not for everyone, but if you've already got two movies under your belt, you won't mind a third.
