Synopsis:

Impressions:
I only had a vague sense of this movie's reputation coming in, but it was it's strong influence on the Silent Hill franchise that further encouraged me to see it for myself. If you like movies that play with your expectations and screw with your mind, this is definitely the film for you. This is arguably the best at it that I've seen and likely one of the best periods for doing this sort of thing. Provided you don't have the twist spoiled for you first, it's a fun ride peeling back the layers as you try to get to the bottom of what's actually going on. The cast does a good job of pulling this off. Tim Robbins and Elizabeth Peña do most of the heavy lifting. I will say one thing: Whatever you think about a character, it's bound to change once or twice before the end credits roll. I strongly encourage you to give this one a watch.
