Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983)
Director: John Landis, Joe Dante, George Miller, Steven Spielberg
Starring: Dan Akroyd, Albert Brooks, Vic Morrow
Synopsis:
Classic stories from The Twilight Zone are retold on the big screen by four different directors.
Impressions:
Before I talk about the movie, let's deal with the elephant in the room. The tragic deaths of Vic Morrow and those two children during the filming of this film are terrible. Whatever you or I think about it, the law made its decision, so we'll leave it at that. Now that that's out of the way, the film itself is rather good. Each story has the distinct touch of its director. "Kick the Can" is particularly charming, but my favorite has to be "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet". John Lithgow delivers an outstanding performance for that one. All in all, this is a rather good movie and so long as you don't feel the need to boycott it on principle, this is well worth watching.
