Stir Crazy (1980)
Director: Sidney Poitier
Starring: Gene Wilder, Richard Pryor, Georg Stanford Brown
Synopsis:
Two New Yorkers heading west find themselves falsely accused and convicted of a bank robbery. While in prison, one of them shows a surprising aptitude for bull riding and is enlisted into the prison rodeo.
Impressions:
Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor make a good pair. See No Evil, Hear No Evil is probably my favorite of their collaborations, but this is solid film too. If you like prison comedy, you won't be disappointed. Besides the main duo, I also want to make note of Erland van Lidth making an impression as Grossberger in one of his few cinematic roles. It's a fun movie and worth a watch.
