A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)

Synopsis:
Nancy Thompson returns as a psychiatric intern specializing in nightmares looking to help young patients who are being tormented by Freddy Krueger.

Impressions:
With Wes Craven returning as both writer and producer for this one, it has a much stronger sense of continuity with the original. I like the idea of a team of "dream warriors" struggling to master their various powers and Nancy taking the mentor role. More than that, the inventiveness of the dream sequences and special effects are what really make this entry shine, taking full advantage of the larger budget. If you found the second film a bit of a misfire, this one should satisfy. Give it a watch.
