Impressions:
Well, you might think that a sequel to The Poseidon Adventure is entirely unnecessary and you'd be right. This is in all ways inferior to the first entry, but I can't say it's completely intolerable. You don't have much sympathy for Michael Caine's character, aiming to loot (*ahem* salvage) the ship, but he does prove to be more heroic than initial appearances would indicate. Sally Field's character can be incredibly annoying and Peter Boyle's contrarian is at times little better. In a disaster film, it's the disaster that's the antagonist. There really isn't much need for a human villain subplot, but this film has it and it's a rather nonsensical one. You may want to check this one out as a curiosity, or if you like certain members of the cast, but otherwise there isn't a whole lot of reason to see it.
