Impressions:
I really love this movie (spoiler alert). It happens to be one of the films from my family's movie canon, but setting aside sentimental attachment, it's an incredibly well-crafted film. There's a good balance of suspense, humor and romance. The dialog is sharply written and the characters are great. Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn have really good chemistry and you've got a colorful antagonistic trio of James Coburn, George Kennedy and Ned Glass. The twists and turns of the story play out nicely and you'll find your expectations flipped, turned and twisted before the end. There's also a solid score be Henry Mancini. A lot of people call this the best Hitchcock film Hitchcock never made and I can't think of a better way to describe it. You owe to yourself to see it. Better yet, give it a place in your collection. Just don't watch it in your pajamas. ^_^
