Synopsis:
A man fleeing the revolution in Venezuela ventures into the jungle in search of gold and finds a mysterious woman feared by the natives.
Impressions:
The prospect of Audrey Hepburn as a nature girl was enough to pique my interest, but this film really isn't that good. It has some elements in common with Forbidden Planet, which is itself an adaptation of The Tempest. Anthony Perkins just doesn't have what it takes to hold up a film as the male lead, at least not the part written for him here. Hepburn was okay, but the role doesn't really play up to her talents. I didn't enjoy it and consider it entirely skippable.
