Conflict (1945)
Director: Curtis Bernhardt
Starring: Humphrey Bogart, Alexis Smith, Sydney Greenstreet
Synopsis:
An engineer murders his wife to be with her younger sister, but then clues start emerging that seem to hint that his wife is still alive.
Impressions:
Humphrey Bogart often plays anti-heroes but he occasionally plays outright villains. Honestly, there's not that much difference. On a similar note, Sydney Greenstreet playing a good guy isn't that much different from his villainous roles as he's still the same calculating, well-spoken character. This is a bit of an interesting twist in that there's an unfolding mystery for the murderer rather than the investigator. I liked it well enough. Give it a watch.
