The Mark of Zorro (1920)

The Mark of Zorro (1920)

Director: Fred Niblo
Starring: Douglas Fairbanks, Marguerite De La Motte, Robert McKim

Synopsis:
A dandy leads a double life as the masked avenger Zorro.

Impressions:
For many years, the only Zorro movie I'd seen was Zorro: The Gay Blade. Yes, really. And while I like The Gay Blade quite a bit, I thought I should give the character his due and start seeing some of his other outings. This is a fun movie. Douglas Fairbanks is clearly having a lot fun with the role both as the wily Zorro and his effete limp mackerel alter ego of Don Diego. There's some good swashbuckling to be had and if you like swashbucklers, this is definitely one to see. Give it a watch.
