The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2017)
[ゼルダの伝説:トワイライトプリンセス]
Volume 3
Author/Artist: Akira Himekawa
Publisher: Tentomushi Comics
Synopsis:
Link travels to Kakariko Village, where the children from Toaru Village have taken refuge, but it is overcome by the Twilight Realm.
Story/Characters:
Link is starting to accept his roles, both as the gods' chosen hero and his beast form in the Twilight. Midna, for her part, continues to needle him with the appeal of the dark side. We get to kick off Link's training under the Golden Wolf, who is linked to Midna's companion from the prologue (which opens up a massive and fascinating can of worms). Then comes the real highlight of the volume: Link's rematch with the Bulblin King. All very good stuff.
Art:
I have nothing but praise for the art. In particular, when Link shows up to face the Bulblin King, there are some amazing hero shots that really show off how Link is starting to own his role. Rather good action sequences, not only the Bulblin King fight but also Link's training under the Hero's Shade.
Conclusion:
We get good measures of both action and character development in this volume. Not only Link but also Midna, Ilia and the Toaru kids are showing some good growth. The Bulblin fight at Kakariko is one of the signature scenes of the original game and it gets a good treatment here. If you've been adding the previous volumes to your collection, you'll want to continue doing so.
