We Never Learn (2017)
[γΌγγγ‘γ―εεΌ·γγ§γγͺγ]
Volume 2
Author/Artist: Taishi Tsutsui
Publisher: Jump Comics
Synopsis:
Yuiga has to ensure Furuhashi and Ogata pass the upcoming midterms in order to continue tutoring them.
Story/Characters:
We've got the first big hurdle for Yuiga to overcome along with the introduction of Kurisu-sensei. While the focus is on Furuhashi and Ogata's performance, Takemoto gets to show off her domestic side while taking care of Furuhashi. We are also introduced to Ogata's self-proclaimed rival Sekijo, who's a fairly interesting character, though she appears somewhat rarely. We kick off the running theme of Takemoto's swim club buddies trying to hook her up with Yuiga. We then go on a field trip, which features the defining moment of Yuiga and Ogata's relationship, and Sekijo being an MVP.
Art:
The art maintains the quality established in the first volume. Cuteness, fanservice and cute fanservice. I do like that in the chapter where Furuhashi frets about gaining weight, we get a full view of her and not a spare ounce to be found. There's a great full-page shot of Ogata in Chapter 12 I really like.
Other:
We get a three-page bonus comic of Yuiga and the girls stranded on a desert island (noncanonical, of course) and a 4-koma.
Conclusion:
We're nicely moving things along with plenty of good moments for all three girls. Kurisu-sensei is a fan favorite, so the fact that she makes her debut here will be a draw for such people. If you're a fan, you'll want this in your collection.
