The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (2002)

Author/Artist: Akira Himekawa
Publisher: Tentomushi Comics

Synopsis:
Link is given a mission by Princess Zelda to escort the Oracle of Ages to Hyrule, but when the sorceress Veran possesses Naryu, Link must go on a time-traveling adventure to stop her.

Story/Characters:
There is one key point I don't like so much about this story in contrast to Oracle of Seasons and I want to get that out of the way first. Because we took our time setting things up in the previous story, Din was fairly well-established and there was a strong connection between her and Link. We don't get anything like that here. Almost as soon as Naryu's introduced, she gets possessed by Veran and so has almost no development whatsoever. That's unfortunate, but the manga-only character Revan (who's apparently called "Raven" in the official translation) does get a lot of development and it's almost enough to offset the disappointment at the lack of focus on the eponymous Oracle of Ages. I wasn't a huge fan of Ralph, but you might enjoy him scrapping with Link. The final battle is a bit disappointing, but so it goes.

Art:
In general, the art style is a little more kiddie than the Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask adaptations, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing. It still looks good and fits with the scenario. There are some good action sequences too.

Conclusion:
While I don't think this is as good of a story as Oracle of Seasons, it's still worth reading, particularly for the character of Revan.
