The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (2000)

[ゼルダの伝説:時のオカリナ]

Volume 2

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (2000)

Author/Artist: Akira Himekawa
Publisher: Tentomushi Comics

Synopsis:
Link continues his quest to seek out the Sages in order to thwart Ganondorf's ambition.

Story/Characters:
I liked all the goings on with the Gerudo with the conflicting plots of Twinrova and Shiek and the final battle is pretty good too. It's disappointing that they set up Nabooru to be Link's lancer only for her to be awakened as a Sage and taken out of the fight. I've complained about the pace before, which makes the fact that there are three chapters devoted to noncanonical side stories rather irksome. I liked the Skull Kid two-parter fairly well, but the other side story about the bratty bird kid is garbage. If you're not a fan of Navi, that story may well put you in her corner.

Art:
The art continues to impress. It's worth noting that Nabooru's design is modified a bit to make her more conventionally attractive (particularly, her big Gerudo schnoz gets dialed down to a cute little button nose). Also, we get to see an unmasked Sheik, which is cool.

Other:
As with the previous volume, we get a couple concepts sketches. There's also an afterword from the Himekawa team.

Conclusion:
While the pace continues to be a little too quick, we still get a pretty good conclusion to the story. How much you appreciate the two side stories is a matter of personal preference. If you got the first volume, you'll want the second too.
