The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (2006)
[ゼルダの伝説:ふしぎのぼうし]

Author/Artist: Akira Himekawa
Publisher: Tentomushi Comics
Synopsis:
With the help of an enchanted hat, a blacksmith's apprentice seeks out the legendary Minish people to save the princess from a sorcerer's stone curse.
Story/Characters:
The typical quick pace of the Himekawa adaptations work well with the handheld Zelda titles, as I've noted before. The story isn't that deep, but it's a brief, entertaining ride. I rather like the initial setup (particularly establishing Link and Zelda as childhood friends—pity she's petrified most of the story) and things move along at a decent clip. It does its job well even if there's not a lot of depth to it.
Art:
We have a fairly cartoony yet appealing style here. This version of Zelda is really cute, by the way.
Other:
We get a number of short strips after the main stories depicting Vaati's apprenticeship under Ezlo, largely explaining his descent into darkness. ^o^
Conclusion:
This is a decent little story that's worth a read. If you're a particularly fervent fan of The Minish Cap, I think you'll be satisfied with what you get. It's not bad for casual readers either.
