Ranma 1/2 - Volume 18 (1992)

Author/Artist: Rumiko Takahashi
Publisher: Shounen Sunday Comics

Synopsis:
Ranma must contend with a monster hunting people cursed at Jusenkyou.

Story/Characters:
The introduction of Pantyhose Tarou gives us one of the three great battle epics of the series. This is the weakest of those three, in no small part due to the heavy involvement of frickin' Happousai. Still, Tarou presents a formidable opponent and it's nice to see the main fighters teaming up against a common foe (even if the alliance is predictably shaky). Tarou isn't that great of a character, though, and hardly makes the most compelling antagonist. All told, it's a bit of a mixed bag.

Art:
Being a big battle epic, we get plenty of good action scenes.

Conclusion:
On the plus side, you've got a big battle that spans the entire volume that forces our heroes to team up. On the down side, it's not a very good antagonist and there's a lot of Happousai. There are better battle epics to come, so take it or leave it.
