Wonder Woman (2009)

Wonder Woman (2009)

Director: Lauren Montgomery
Starring: Keri Russell, Nathan Fillion, Alfred Molina

Synopsis:
When a man from the outside crash-lands on the hidden island of the Amazons, Princess Diana is chosen to act as the emissary to Man's World and return him, but while this is going on, the Amazons' ancient enemy Ares the God of War plots a return.

Impressions:
This is a pretty good film. The animation quality isn't much above TV grade, but the DCAU always had a pretty high bar for TV animation. The rapport between Diana and Steve is rather good and the dialog in general has some good points. The Lasso of Truth gets used to good effect. I will admit that the sexual politics are rather clumsy, but it does manage a degree of balance. By no means superlative, it's enjoyable viewing all the same and any fan of the DC universe and Wonder Woman in particular should find it worth watch it.
