Village of the Damned (1960)

Village of the Damned (1960)

Director: Wolf Rilla
Starring: George Sanders, Barbara Shelley, Martin Stephens

Synopsis:
Everyone in a small English village fall asleep for several hours and when they wake, all the women find themselves to be pregnant. The children are all peculiar blond-haired eccentrics with mental faculties far exceeding normal children, though there seems to be something else to them, something sinister.

Impressions:
I've heard of this film before and so I wanted to take the opportunity to see it for myself. It's a good creepy little scifi. I must give particular credit to George Sanders for his performance as Gordon Zellaby. Although I didn't realize, my only exposure to him before this was his role as Shere Khan in Disney's The Jungle Book. He's a fine actor and I've made a point to seek out other films he's starred in and haven't been disappointed.

If you like vintage scifi, this one is worth your time.
