Impressions:
When this film came out, I read reviews deriding it as all style over substance. They weren't entirely wrong. This is a fairly standard serial killer story, a sort of poor man's Silence of the Lambs. The hook is the mind-link tech and once you dive in, that when you get the art student's dream on display. I think you'll find it hard to deny how stunning some of the imagery is, but you may also be quick to dismiss it as pretentious. Honestly, the art direction is enough to make it worth viewing, but I doubt you'll want to make it a permanent addition to your collection.
