Suspicion (1941)
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Starring: Cary Grant, Joan Fontaine, Cedric Hardwicke
Synopsis:
A woman falls for a charmer with a shady background and starts to suspect him of murder.
Impressions:
While I don't think this is one of Hitchcock's better films, it's still Hitchcock, so it's worth seeing. I feel it takes too much time on the windup, but I suppose by taking its time, the tension is racheted up that much more when we get to the main event. Cary Grant's character skates on the line superbly, which plays well into the eponymous suspicion. I don't agree with the ending imposed on the film, but that doesn't take away the tension leading up to it. Give this one a shot.
