Impressions:
I'll admit it, I watched this movie solely for the purposes of a troll review, but I feel like I'm the one who got trolled. This isn't a terrible movie, but it's not a particularly good one either. Neither the story nor the characters clicked with me, so I had no investment, making the viewing a chore rather than entertainment. This is a fairly early feature role for Jimmy Stewart and he plays against type (not that his type had been squarely established yet) as the alternatively brash and sullen test driver Terry. Some actual footage from the Indy 500 is used in the movie with some fairly impressive crashes. Besides historical curiosity and some insight into Stewart's early career, this film has little to offer. Take that into consideration when you make your decision whether to watch it or not, but as for me, I'd just as soon not.
