House on Haunted Hill (1959)
Director: William Castle
Starring: Vincent Price, Carol Ohmart, Richard Long
Synopsis:
An eccentric millionaire and his wife invite five guests to a party at a haunted mansion with a $10,000 prize to any with the courage to make it through the night.
Impressions:
This is a schlocky little 50s haunted house movie elevated by the ever entertaining Vincent Price. The rest of the cast is less remarkable, but I'll credit Elisha Cook Jr. for being pretty good as well. It's a silly film, but I'll give it credit for the twist at the end. So long as you accept this for what it is, it's enjoyable enough. Give it a watch.
