Impressions:
There was a lot of hype for this, so I was looking forward to checking it out and it proved to be one of the best things to come out this year. We have a fictionalized Cold War setting which plays well to spy fiction genre (and not being strictly true to life allows the author a fair measure of flexibility). I loved the element of having each member of the Forger family have their own secret that forces them to keep up the masquerade with each other as well as with the outside world, but despite this, or perhaps because of it, a nice family dynamic develops. While there are some serious elements, this is mostly a comedy and the quirks of the characters are played up quite well. Because we're not taking things too seriously, the dial can get cranked up to further boost the comedic effect. With Wit Studio and CloverWorks teaming up, production values are sky-high, so you'll never be disappointed by the presentation. I was glad that this was a two-cour season because that meant there was more for me to enjoy. I positively loved it and heartily recommend it for your collection.
