Impressions:
We've got a new studio at the helm and a bump in production values to go with it. Some people apparently object to Hachiman being made more conventionally attractive, but I don't think the average person will mind things looking nicer overall (not that the previous season was particularly bad or anything). There are much bigger bones of contention to be had. The focus shifts from comedy to fairly heavy character drama. It's not handled poorly, but some viewers may feel that it's not what they signed up for. (You could argue the title of the series gets fulfilled.) Another problem is that Yukino becomes far more passive and you don't see much of the banter she used to exchange with Hachiman. I can understand what's going on from a narrative and character perspective, but as with the drama slant, the show has become something different and if you really liked it for what was established before, this may end up disappointing. As for me, I think it's still mostly good and certainly worth watching, but you may not quite consider it as much of a must-have.
