RED (2010)

A retired CIA operative finds himself targeted in a conspiracy to cover up an incident in Guatemala and reassembles his old teammates to get to the bottom of things, and he also kidnaps the woman he has a crush on for her protection along the way.
Impressions:
In no small part due to CG, age is less of a barrier to action roles (though, to be fair to actors themselves, we have a number of them who are still quite vigorous well into their 60s and 70s). As such, the action stars from 30, 40 years ago remain viable. This movie runs on that and it works quite well. With Bruce Willis on top as Frank Moses, he's joined by John Malkovitch, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfuss, and Ernest Borgnine in a grand ensemble cast from yesteryear. (Although perhaps "yesteryear" isn't appropriate as most of them continue to have steady work.) The main representative of the younger generation is Karl Urban as the antagonistic operative William Cooper. I suppose Mary-Louise Parker as love interest Sarah also factors in there too. There's a lot of good action set pieces, good characters, good humor and a cast that works well together. It's a highly watchable movie and makes for easy viewing. Give it a watch.
