Synopsis:
With the help of her immortal boyfriend, a girl hailed by supernatural creatures as their goddess of wisdom twists facts and fiction to solve paranormal mysteries.

Impressions:
I passed this one by on its initial run, but when I saw the second season in the Spring 2023 release schedule, I decided to check it out. If you like ghost stories and mystery stories, this is the peanut butter and jelly fusion of those two genres. There's a nice odd couple dynamic between the cute yet coarse Kotoko and her not entirely voluntary boyfriend Kuro. Perhaps the most fascinating thing is how Kotoko uses deception to craft her deductions in such a way that are more palatable to humans and supernatural beings alike. Whereas most mysteries are about finding the truth, here it's more about finding the lie, though we do typically get a private exposition between Kotoko and Kuro where the actual facts of the case are discussed. The show hit a lot of the right notes with me, enough for me to recommend adding it to your collection.
