Synopsis:
In a world where spontaneous human combustion is rampant, turning people into the demonic Infernals, a recently graduated firefighter cadet joins a special taskforce designed to put the Infernals to rest.

Impressions:
Not looking into the plot synopsis or anything, I thought this was just a story about ordinary firefighters. It wasn't until I heard about the fantastical elements that I decided to check it out and I'm glad that I did, because this was probably my favorite series of the season. If you're familiar with the original author Atsushi Okubo's previous work Soul Eater, some of the aesthetics and general feel will be familiar. We have an interesting setting, great characters and some excellent action for an all-around outstanding package. The applications of pyrokinesis are varied and rather cleverly employed for some creative action set pieces. There's a good balance of action, comedy and drama with plenty of mysteries to unravel. I would definitely recommend adding this to your collection and I'm looking forward to the upcoming second season.
