Impressions:
Christopher Nolan has a pretty good record with me, so while I didn't run out to the theaters to see this, I was still inclined to give it a shot should it come my way. I remember hearing talk of "space magic" when the film came out and if you see the movie, you'll know what they're talking about. Don't expect the science to be too hard, in other words. Still, it's a pretty good movie. I didn't think it was quite as good as most of Nolan's films, but it's solid nevertheless, though I felt the conflict ball being held at the end of the second act was a little clumsy. As you might expect, Matthew McConaughey charms in the lead role. Anne Hathaway isn't bad, but I'm particularly looking forward to seeing how young Mackenzie Foy's career will develop. I believe she has the potential to grow into a rather good actress. The quality of the effects are rather good, so the spectacle side of things shouldn't disappoint. I have somewhat mixed feelings walking away from this one, but I still think it's worth seeing.
