Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005)
Director: Rick Bota
Starring: Lance Henriksen, Katheryn Winnick, Christopher Jacot
Synopsis:
A group of friends who used to play an MMORPG based on Hellraiser are invited to a party hosted by the game's creator. It all seems innocent enough at first, but then they find themselves being picked off one after another.
Impressions:
Lance Henriksen has said that he does some movies for art and others for the mortgage payment. This was clearly a mortgage payment movie, but I'll give him credit for being entertaining as he usually is. In fact, it's because his performance is so entertaining and Katheryn Winnick is pleasant to look at that I'm inclined to put this above V or VII, but it's still a bad movie. I'll give a little more credit for the fact that turning Pinhead into a poor ripoff of Freddy Krueger actually gets a decent in-universe explanation, but it's still dumb. You're better off passing on this one.
