A Certain Scientific Railgun S (2013)
[とある科学の超電磁砲S]
Director: Tatsuyuki Nagai
Studio: JC Staff
Starring: Rina Sato, Satomi Arai, Aki Toyosaki
Episodes: 24
Synopsis:
While looking into a case of money cards distributed throughout the city, Misaka stumbles onto a conspiracy involving clandestine research to achieve an esper with Level 6 power.
Impressions:
The main feature of this season is getting to see the Sisters Arc play out from Misaka's perspective. The second arc of the series is anime-original, which some viewers complain about, but I didn't have any problem with it and thought it was a natural extension of the plot. The fact that the Kazuma Kamachi, the series' original author, wrote the episodes probably explains why the arc feels more organic than most anime-original material you find in other series. If you liked the first season, then I think you'll be satisfied with what you get. If you're not a Touma fan, you may not like how prominent he is in the resolution of the Sisters Arc, but that's all preexisting canon. I'm not much of a Touma fan, but I find him alright in small doses, so it worked out. It's worth a watch in my book, so check it out.
