Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion II - Transgression (2018)
[コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ II 叛道]

Synopsis:
Now that Lelouch has learned that his nemesis is Suzaku, he must devise a plot to remove him as an obstacle to his plans.
Impressions:
I find myself torn on this entry. The cuts bother me a lot more, particularly for destroying most of the impact of Euphemia as a character (no Kamine Island, just as we didn't have the hoteljack in the previous film) and as we move into R2, it's pretty much impossible to appreciate what we get because we race to Episode 14 in less than half an hour, but it's almost all told from Suzaku's perspective. Now, the latter point is kinda neat insofar as it's new content, but not enough to properly deliver the narrative. One of the things I like most about Code Geass is the characters, how they interact and develop, so with the cuts stripping down so much of the cast to mere cardboard cutouts, it's really disappointing. While the new content might be enough of a curiosity for fans to be willing to give it a watch, too much lost in the exchange. I can't recommend it, even on a take it or leave it basis. Watch the TV series. Don't let this be your first exposure to the story.
