Synopsis:
A team of oil drillers are recruited by NASA to assist with the plan to destroy a meteor on a collision course with Earth.

Impressions:
Disaster movies tend to be kinda dumb. This was certainly true of the revival of the genre in the 90s. Now, you can angle for a genuine emotion response or you can have fun with it. You're better off focusing on the latter and that's what this movie does. You've got a big eclectic cast of misfits that play off each other fairly well. So long as you don't think about it too hard, it's a fun ride. It's a popcorn movie and if you don't expect anything more from it, you'll enjoy it. The special effects hold up fairly well and there's good spectacle to be had. Much like Independence Day, if you can turn your brain off, it's worth seeing.
