Impressions:
I say this almost every season about how bogged down we are with isekai, but there's still treasure to be found among the trash and this is one such gem. While it ultimately plays straight a lot of the tropes it initially appears to subvert, it's an enjoyable series with an appealing cast. I honestly would've been happy to have Sei not be the Saint and the story be about her pharmacological research in the background. Though she has a bit of a humble start, things do come a bit too easily for Sei to make for compelling conflict, but instead the story is carried by the relationships among the characters. It does feel like wish fulfillment, but at least in this case, female wish fulfillment isn't quite as cringey as the male counterpart (see almost any example of isekai trash out there). Despite feeling that the envelope should have been pushed more, this was a thoroughly enjoyable watch and I'm very likely to pick up the continuation of the story in one of its other forms. If you're in the mood for a light fantasy romance, I'd say give this a watch.
