Synopsis:
Following his fight with the Witch's Cult, Subaru discovers that Rem has been left comatose and everyone except him has forgotten her.
Impressions:
It certainly feels like Rem has been sidelined this season because of her greater popularity compared to Emilia, only for actual best girl Echidna to make her debut. I joke, but particularly in the second half of the season, Emilia gets considerable development and I ended up liking her quite a bit, a far cry from my impression of her from the first season, which was one of my biggest complaints. The trials of the Sanctuary were amazing for character development, not only for Emilia but for Subaru as well. Untangling the web of conspiracy behind this season's conflict is rather rewarding. We learn a lot more about the backstory and it's all good stuff if you're invested in the story. Production values are solid and we get some strong performances as well. It's the total package and well worth adding to your collection.
