Impressions:
What's an anime season without a mediocre LN-based fantasy? I chose to go with this over the Beast Tamer series because it seemed slightly more tolerable and, honestly, it indeed turned out to be a tolerable watch if nothing particularly outstanding. Not much is done with the protagonist being a farmer beyond him raving about vegetables and complaining about his adventuring getting in the way of his farming. If you don't like an oblivious, unwitting chick magnet whose fairly bland outside his overplayed quirks, then you're not going to like our protagonist too much. His haremettes fit familiar molds but aren't too obnoxious. "Underwhelming" is the word, doubly so for the weak finale which doesn't have much going for it beyond the big twist and the aftermath that could significantly change the dynamics but will likely be subverted in short order, not that I think we can expect a continuation in animated form. The OP and ED are the best things about the show, which is something, I guess. Unless you're just looking to fill the time and don't have any better options, there's not much to gain by watching this, but I also found it comparatively inoffensive, so watch it or not as you will.
