You Are Ms. Servant (2024)

Director: Ayumu Watanabe
Studio: Felix Film
Starring: Toshiki Kumagai, Reina Ueda, Eriko Matsui
Episodes: 12

Synopsis:
A former assassin is sent to a distant relative of her employer to serve as his live-in maid.

Impressions:
Klutzy kuudere assassin maids are nothing new (and what a world we live in where I can say that), but if the particular quirks of main girl Yuki succeed in charming you, then you should find this a fairly enjoyable watch. The only flies in the ointment are that I don't think the occasional tone shifts into darker subject matter (particularly in relation to Yuki's past) gel that well with the rest of the story and the latter part of the season can be a bit frustrating as Yuki and Hitoyoshi's mutual emotional underdevelopment cause a lot of needless tension, though it's predictably building up to the payoff at the end. (I suppose you can argue for the value of this sort of conflict, but it's not a character dynamic I enjoy.) Character designs are nice and production values maintain fairly consistent quality, so the visuals shouldn't disappoint. Overall, while the series doesn't quite manage to be something exceptional, I still think it's worth a watch.
