Impressions:
An isekai with the dreaded word "cheat" in the title. Usually that's enough for me to pass, but wolfie waifu Fenrys was able to lure me in to give it a shot and I ended up liking this more than I was expecting. Mildly interesting is that rather than being isekaied from modern-day Japan, our protagonist actually hails from another fantasy world. I'm not a fan of him getting instantly OP thanks to a mass casualty incident as in Death March, which I dropped the moment it happened there. (To my knowledge, that series doesn't have a wolfie waifu to hook you.) Happily, this series is less about capitalizing on Flio's OPness but rather him trying to maintain neutrality in the conflict around him. The two sides at war have their mix of reasonable and unreasonable figures to keep the pot stirred. Going back to that wolfie waifu, I do love that Rys quite actively puts the kibosh on any movements toward making this a harem story. Flio and Rys' mutual devotion to each other is nice, and it's better than a collection of half-baked relationships. (I am firmly in the Balirossa x Ghozal camp as far as beta couples go.) Fans of the The Familiar of Zero will appreciate how much of the cast and crew have reunited here (and it's enough for me to give that series a second chance as it didn't quite grab me the first time I tried to watch it). While the conflict won't have you on the edge of your seat, there is some effective balancing to keep things from getting too boring. If the characters click with you, you should enjoy yourself a fair bit. Shoot, just watch the OP and if Rys manages to charm you, you're good to go. Give it a watch.
