Director: Hideaki Oba

Synopsis:
A troubleshooter finds herself being targeted by assassin, but rather than trying to kill her, his aim is to win her heart.

Impressions:
The pun in the original title caught my eye and the premise seemed intriguing enough. The OP is nice and snappy, too, so I had modest expectations. Those expectations were perhaps not modest enough. The initial setup gave us some decent belligerent sexual tension between Song and Chateau, but I don't think too many people are going to be charmed by Song's stalkerish courtship methods, though there's some comedic value to be had. You might think that a story about an assassin would have better execution of the wetwork craft, but you'll be disappointed on that count. While the story does manage to unpack the mystery of Song and Chateau's past, it leaves off in the middle of the conflict of the second half of the season. I suppose it would make for a decent cliffhanger if the material was more compelling. I don't know if there will be a continuation and even if there is, I don't know how likely I'd be to pick it up. You might managed to squeeze just enough value to feel your time hasn't been wasted, but I'd say take it or leave it.
