Impressions:
I wasn't expecting much from this series, but I thought there might be some fun to be had. Boy, was I wrong. Between this and Shikkakumon, I was getting a one-two punch of pain that I only completed for review purposes. While I do think it's cute when you have a little girl with antiquated speech, that's about the only charm point to be found here. I suppose character designs are fairly cute too, so there's that, I guess. Outside their appearance, the characters are weak, the story is garbage, the CG is amateurish, and the author's vile pee fetish cropping up periodically makes me want to smack him, then smack his editor for running with it, and after that smack the production staff for not excising it from this adaptation. (Also, among the lesser sins, the Star Wars blaster sound effect gets abused to all heck, regardless of whether its use would make sense or not.) The trapped-in-a-game-world premise is so underutilized that this might as well just be a standard fantasy. There are some decent components that probably could have made something passable in more skillful hands, but what we get is so terribly dull. The vast majority of the humor falls flat, leaving you with nothing but some occasionally fine visuals (whenever CG isn't present) and some limited potential that goes wasted. There's not enough merit here to warrant your time, so don't even bother. Pass on this.
