Impressions:
This season can be broken into two parts. The first five eps are a flashback to when Gojou and Geto were still students and gives more context for Geto's fall to darkness. I can remember a tchotchke I got with my ticket for the movie was a card featuring Gojou and Geto palling around, so it was nice to get a peek at when that was the case. The second part was the much-anticipated Shibuya Incident. Now, if you don't like low-stakes battles, this will be a nice aversion for you. The Shibuya Incident is a big, costly battle for both sides with major consequences going forward. I think the viewing experience is boosted by watching Jujutsu Kaisen 0 first, as it gives a little more establishment for a lot of seemingly incidental characters that pop up.
MAPPA maintains that high production values that did a lot to boost the previous season, so you don't have to worry about them skimping on the visual feast. Expect plenty of bloody action and associated horrors. If you were a fan of the first season, you'll be fully on board for this one, but expect plenty of player punches along the way. It's one for the collection, so be sure to get it.
