Impressions:
For people who have been following my reviews of the manga, you'll know I haven't been a huge fan of this latter part of the story. However, possibly because things are moving at a fast clip in animated form (and not having to wait several months between volumes), I found myself enjoying the experience more. There's been some contention among the fans about the studio changing to MAPPA, which has had to deal with a number of extenuating circumstances, but I really don't have much to complain about. I'm not that much of a fan of using CG for the Titans, but as far as CG in anime goes, it's not bad. Some of the big set pieces like the attack on Liberio are amazing. As far as the plot goes, there's going to be a lot of frustration, I imagine. Gabi in particular is sure to be a major bone of contention. I get what's being done with her character, setting her up as a parallel to Eren, but most people are going to hate every second she's onscreen. The highs more than make up for the lows, however, enough for me to recommend adding it to your collection.
