Spies in Disguise (2019)
Director: Nick Bruno, Troy Quane
Starring: Will Smith, Tom Holland, Ben Mendelsohn
Synopsis:
A secret agent framed for treason is turned into a pigeon by a gadgeteer's experimental formula.
Impressions:
One thing about having kids (even if it's one degree removed) is that you'll consume entertainment you never would otherwise. I mean, a movie where a super-spy Will Smith gets turned into a pigeon... Yes, really. However, I will say that it's not nearly as bad as I was expecting. It's actually decent and it seems to entertain the kids, so it does what it needs to do. The central message is painfully naive but you'd never see anything else in a kids' movie. On a technical level, it's rather solid. Also, heck, I learned that I've been mispronouncing "cloaca" all this time. How 'bout that? I think if you like other works by Blue Sky, you'll probably think this is worth a watch.
