Red Dog (2011)
Director: Kriv Stenders
Starring: Koko, Josh Lucas, Rachael Taylor
Synopsis:
As a half-stray dog lies dying of poisoning, the mining community that adopted him reminisce about how he affected their lives.
Impressions:
This is a vignette-based story where the eponymous Red Dog influences the lives of various members of the quirky cast. Some of the stories are comedic, others tragic. Most of it is fairly grounded, but we occasionally have fantastic elements like the depictions of the clashes between Red Dog and Red Cat. It's a fine little film that brings a bit of local Australian culture to wider audiences that's well enough worth a watch, so give it a shot.
