Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy (2010)
Director: Daniel Farrands, Andrew Kasch
Synopsis:
A retrospective on the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
Impressions:
This documentary covers the whole of The Nightmare on Elm Street series from the first film up to Freddy vs. Jason. It doesn't include the remake, whose general release was just a few days before this came out. We get some rather candid interviews with loads of members of the cast and crew. You don't just hear from the actors and directors but also the producers, the writers, the special effects guys and more. The whole thing clocks in at four hours, so each film gets a decent amount of time devoted to it. It's a fascinating look at the ups and downs of the series and if you're a serious fan, you'll definitely want to check it out. It's a bit of a shame some of the bigger name actors didn't participate, but there's more than enough here to satisfy anyone looking for a behind-the-scenes look at the franchise. Give it a watch.
