Synopsis:
A documentary about the failed Tim Burton Superman film starring Nicolas Cage as the Man of Steel.

Impressions:
I remember when the subject of this documentary was in production and I can't think of anyone who took Nicolas Cage seriously as someone to be playing Superman. I'd heard a telling of the story of Kevin Smith's involvement in the project before and when he tells it, particularly regarding the character of producer Jon Peters, you think, "Oh, Kevin, you're pulling our leg." Enter Jon Peters demonstrating that Smith, if anything, is soft-serving just how crazy he is. Tim Burton understandably put a whole ocean between them. There are indeed some interesting things that were being done on the project, but you can tell it was doomed from the start. Still, it makes for a good story and all credit to Jon Schnepp for bringing that story to us in this delightful little documentary. Give this one a watch, by all means.
