Impressions:
I can remember seeing a promo for this way back in the day, mostly focusing on Katsumi's shower scene. I got the TV series several years later and only recently went back to see the big-screen treatment. This movie falls into the same trap as most feature anime adaptions in that there's too much story to handle in the timeframe, so instead they go big on visuals and light on plot. The confrontation with the one Lucifer Hawk acts as a frame story for how Katsumi first encountered AMP. It's okay as first episode material, but doesn't make for that compelling of a cinematic experience. If you are an anime fan from the 90s, you know what to expect. It's not terrible viewing by any means, but it doesn't give much beyond the visuals. If you want to see the story fleshed out, try the TV series. As for seeing this, take it or leave it.
