The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Impressions:
I didn't watch this when it was in theaters and I only got to see part of it in class back when I was in eighth grade or so. I'm glad to finally go back and give it a proper watchthrough. It's interesting to have basically a villain protagonist who isn't actively malicious, only the product of a different culture who wants something he doesn't have and doesn't quite go about it the right way. I was surprised that Danny Elfman himself provides Jack's singing voice. The score and songs are iconic. Standouts include "This is Halloween" and "What's This?" The stop-motion animation is outstanding, but we should expect nothing less from Henry Selick. Definitely give this one a watch at least, if not afford it a spot in your collection.
