Fire in the Sky (1993)
Director: Robert Lieberman

Synopsis:
Accusations fly about in a small Arizona town when a logger goes missing and his crewmates claim it was alien abduction.
Impressions:
When I was looking up alien abduction movies for this week's theme, this film came highly recommended and for good reason. It's a nice atmospheric film that slowly builds up, mostly playing as a conventional small-town murder mystery until the third act. While DB Sweeney has top billing as the abductee at the center of the story, he's actually absent for most of the runtime and the film is primarily carried by Robert Patrick as Travis' best friend and crew leader, but Sweeney earns his billing with the harrowing portrayal of Travis' abduction experience, which is saved for dang near the end of the movie but is a nice payoff for all the buildup to that point. The depiction of the alien craft was a bit surprising, but I won't go into details to avoid spoilers. The recommendations were right on the money and I'm happy to pass the recommendation on to you. If you're in any way interested in alien abduction stories, this is definitely worth a watch.
