Synopsis:
An officer with a spotty record is given command of a diesel submarine and a misfit crew for a war game, but the deck is stacked against him and the admiral in charge is out to get his hide.
Impressions:
There seemed to be a slew of military comedies in the mid- to late 90s. None of them were particularly good, but they were decent enough and fairly harmless. That's certainly the case here as well. Oh, it's sorta funny and I suppose the cast do about as well as they can with the material they have to work with. A lot of these comedies feel rather samey after all I've seen, there's just not much to interest me. If you're a fan of cast members like Kelsey Grammer, Rob Schneider and Harland Williams, then I think you'll enjoy yourself. If you don't like the brand of humor by the films starring SNL alums, you may want to skip this, but it'll be fine enough if you see it.
